How we work with customers

Pilot first. Always.

The shape of every business relationship with Apex. We earn the production contract by winning the pilot — not the other way around.

Pilots scoped to one workload

We don't sell platforms abstractly. Each engagement is anchored to one painful workload — the renewal you'd rather not sign, the licence server that costs more than the engineer running it.

Win conditions, in writing

Every pilot starts with a written success metric you set. We co-author the comparison memo at the end. If we miss the metric by quarter close, the rest of the quarter is on us.

Sovereign-ready by default

Managed cloud, your VPC, on-prem, or air-gapped. Same runtime, your boundary. We don't insist on data leaving your perimeter, and we don't sell access to it under the line.

Who we work with on your side

The functions in the room when we start.

Engineering leadership scopes the workload. Procurement and security review the boundary. Programme leadership owns the comparison. Each gets a page on this site with the depth they need.

    Engineering leadership

Retire CAE / EDA / discovery / coding-agent renewals. Compress cycle time. Reclaim senior engineers for the parts only humans do well.

From a customer pilot

“We expected an AI that would write Python around our existing tools. We got something that replaces them. The renewal we were dreading is the renewal we retired.”

Engagement tiers

Three shapes the relationship can take.

We work with companies at three depths — a strategic pilot to prove the workload, production deployment once the pilot lands, and the frontier programme for the customers shaping where this goes.

  • Strategic pilot

Three to eight weeks, one workload, written win condition. Forward-deployed engineer pairs with your team. Fixed-fee.

    Scope a pilot
  • Production deployment

Annual commitment after a successful pilot. Eval-gated promotion, on-call coverage, change-management aligned to your release calendar.

    Read pricing
  • Frontier programme

Multi-year partnerships with the customers shaping where this technology goes. Co-developed agents, joint research, leadership convenings.

    About frontier
Implementation

From kickoff to production in one quarter.

The actual shape of an enterprise rollout, day by day. Forward-deployed engineering on day one, signed comparison memo at quarter close, production deploy in the following quarter.

  1. 01Days 1–5

    Kickoff

Forward-deployed engineer named in the order form. Scope locked. Data sources, identity provider and deployment boundary agreed in writing. First trace flows on day five.

  2. 02Weeks 2–4

    Stand-up

Aether deploys into the boundary you picked — managed cloud, your VPC, on-prem, or air-gapped. Agents connected to the workload's data. First measurable artefact compared against your incumbent.

  3. 03Weeks 5–8

    Side-by-side

Aether runs the workload alongside the incumbent stack. You see every trace. Weekly check-in covers metric movement and any failure-mode triage. Sponsor reviews at week six.

  4. 04Quarter 1 close

    Comparison memo

We co-author the memo. Win condition either holds or it doesn't — said plainly on the same page. If we miss, the rest of the quarter is on us; if we land, the production order moves.

  5. 05Quarter 2+

    Production

Eval-gated promotion through your release calendar. On-call coverage spun up. Audit traces flowing to your SIEM. Next workload scoped while this one stabilises.

Procurement & contracting

For the team who reads the order form.

The terms, the certifications and the SLAs your buying team will need to put this through review. Real, not aspirational. We send a security review pack within five business days of a signed NDA.

  • Master agreement

MSA-first. We sign your paper or we send ours; either way the win condition is in the order form, not in the appendix.

  • Data processing addendum

DPA on request. GDPR / UK-GDPR / CCPA controls available. Sub-processor list published and refreshed monthly.

  • Security review

SOC 2 Type II report under NDA. ISO 27001 in progress. Pen-test results, threat-model documentation and architecture diagrams available to your security team.

  • Compliance posture

21 CFR Part 11 patterns for life sciences. ALCOA+ records. ITAR-clean compartments for defence work. GxP-grade audit for regulated programmes.

  • Billing

Quarterly or annual invoicing. Custom payment terms for enterprise accounts. Multi-year discounts on annual commitments after a successful pilot.

  • Service-level agreement

Standard SLA on Team tier; custom SLAs on Enterprise. 24×7 incident response on Enterprise; documented response targets on every other path.

Buyer FAQ

Questions procurement actually asks.

Pricing, data, IP, integrations, escape hatches. If yours isn't here, write to hello@apexworldlabs.com — same business day on the questions enterprise teams need before procurement clears a pilot.

  • How do you price?

Pilots are fixed-fee, scoped to one workload and one written win condition. Production deployments are annual contracts priced against measured usage. Tier-level pricing is on /pricing; enterprise pricing is bespoke and we publish bands in every conversation we have with procurement.

  • Do we keep our data?

Customer data is not training data. Base models are never trained on customer prompts, code or experiment data. Fine-tunes are scoped, attributed and never reused across tenants. Right-to-delete is enforced by the runtime, not by a post-hoc job.

  • What if the pilot doesn't land?

We co-author the comparison memo with you and we say so on the same page. If we miss the metric you picked by quarter close, the rest of the quarter is on us. No retention clause for the pilot; you keep the traces and walk away clean.

  • Can we deploy on-prem or air-gapped?

Yes. On-prem and air-gapped configurations are Enterprise-tier and shipped with the same runtime and the same evals as the managed offering. ITAR-clean compartments and export-control-aware deployments are supported; weights are pinned per release.

  • How does this compare to a chat-trained AI vendor?

Different axis. We train a foundation model on simulation rather than language. The chat-trained labs describe the world; Aether runs it. For workloads where the answer has to be physically correct — engineering simulations, drug-discovery campaigns, chip signoff — the comparison usually isn't close.

  • Who owns the IP from the pilot?

You do. Workflows, fine-tunes and artefacts produced during a pilot are owned by the customer. We retain rights to publish methodology and lessons learned — never the underlying data, never the workload specifics.

  • What integrations do you support?

Identity: SAML / OIDC SSO, SCIM provisioning. Audit: OpenTelemetry, SIEM-grade events, JSONL export. Data: most major scientific-data lakes, ELN / LIMS, EDA database formats, CAD neutral exchange. Where we don't have a connector, the forward-deployed engineer builds it in the pilot window.

Compliance posture

Built for the regulated parts of the work.

The frameworks the platform is built against, not retrofitted for. Every certification below is live and renewable on the published cadence.

  • SOC 2 Type II
  • ISO 27001 (in progress)
  • 21 CFR Part 11
  • ALCOA+
  • ITAR-clean compartments
  • Export-control gating
  • Sovereign air-gapped deploys
  • GxP-grade audit

Bring us your hardest workload.

The pilot starts with a written win condition. We co-author the comparison memo at the end. If we don't beat your incumbent on the metric you pick, the rest of the quarter is on us.
