Apex
Brand

A system, used sparingly.

Apex's identity is a small set of pieces — a mark, a wordmark, a palette built around cream and coral, an editorial serif paired with a clean sans. The pieces are designed to recede so the content can lead. Used sparingly, they keep the system consistent. Used everywhere, they stop working.

Palette

The colours, with their job descriptions.

Each colour has a role, not just a hex value. The role is what keeps the system consistent across pages.

Cream

Default page background.

Cream deep
#ece9df · --cream-deep

Card and surface background.

Ink
#141413 · --ink

Primary text. Dark-section background.

Ink soft
#2b2925 · --ink-soft

Secondary text.

Muted
#6b6557 · --muted

Captions, metadata, axis labels.

Line
#d9d4c4 · --line

Borders and dividers.

Coral
#cc785c · --coral

Primary accent — calls to action, highlights.

Coral deep
#b85b3f · --coral-deep

Italic emphasis, hover state, citation links.

Moss
#4a5d3a · --moss

Secondary accent — biology, autonomous-lab discipline.

Night
#0d0d0c · --night

Dark-section background.

Night soft
#1a1a18 · --night-soft

Dark-section cards.

Typography

Three faces, each with a job.

Display serif for editorial weight, geometric sans for reading, monospace for metadata. Used together they keep the editorial rhythm of every page.

Display
Fraunces

Variable optical-sized serif. Used for headlines and editorial italic accents.

The model for the physical world.

Body
Inter

Geometric sans for body copy, navigation, captions. Five weights — 300, 400, 500, 600, 700.

Aether is trained on simulation, not scraped text. It runs forward in time across domains the same way reality does.

Metadata
JetBrains Mono

Monospace for eyebrows, dates, code snippets, and any context where the metadata matters more than the prose.

Voice & tone

How we sound.

The brand's voice is engineered the way the rest of the system is engineered. We talk to engineers and scientists; we treat them as adults; we keep the numbers honest.

Do
  • Specific over abstract. "We retired a $1.8M renewal" beats "we save money".
  • Honest about failure. Publish the cases we lost alongside the cases we won.
  • Numbers with provenance. Every number on the site links to how to reproduce it.
  • Direct, no posturing. "We don't yet do X well" beats marketing-speak around it.
  • Engineering register. We talk to engineers and scientists; we treat them as adults.
Don't
  • Hype. Avoid "revolutionary", "unprecedented", "game-changing".
  • Fictional metrics. Numbers without a reproduction path are forbidden.
  • Vague benchmarks. "Industry-leading" without a named benchmark is worthless.
  • Disparaging incumbents by name. We say "the incumbent CAE stack", not vendor brand names.
  • Promising features that don't exist. Roadmap is roadmap; production is production.

Company description, ready to paste.

One-line, one-paragraph and three-paragraph descriptions. Updated quarterly; if a number on this page moves, this page moves with it.

One-line · for bylines and capsule mentions

Apex is a frontier AI lab training Aether — a simulation-native foundation model for the physical world.

One-paragraph · for short articles and press releases

Apex is a frontier AI lab building Aether, a simulation-native foundation model trained on solver trajectories, instrument data and design history. While the chat-trained frontier labs focus on language, Apex focuses on the physical world — engineering, semiconductors, drug discovery, autonomous labs, materials and software-engineering work. Founded in 2024 and headquartered in San Francisco.

Three-paragraph · for features and longer pieces

Apex is one of a small number of labs in the world training a frontier foundation model from scratch. The model — Aether — is simulation-native. It reads CAD, mesh, RTL, molecular structures, spectra, plate-reader data, code and sensor streams, and it forward-rolls the systems they describe through time. Same backbone serves every discipline.

The chat-trained frontier labs train on the internet and describe the world. Apex trains on solver trajectories, instrument runs and shipped-design archives, and computes the world forward. A different axis of the frontier — the one the physical disciplines have been waiting for.

Founded in 2024 by A. Singh and headquartered in San Francisco, Apex ships Aether into engineering, semiconductors, drug discovery, autonomous labs, materials, fusion and software-engineering work. Customers include aerospace primes, fabless semiconductor companies, biotechs, national labs and large software platform teams.

Founder & CEO
Pronunciation
UH-kahsh SING
Bio · short
A. Singh is the founder and CEO of Apex, the frontier AI lab training Aether, a simulation-native foundation model for the physical world.
Bio · long
A. Singh is the founder and CEO of Apex. Before Apex, he led foundation-model engineering at a frontier AI lab, with research contributions in long-horizon trajectory modelling and capability gating. Apex was founded in 2024 on the thesis that the next decade of frontier AI work belongs to models that compute the physical world forward, not models that describe it. Aether is that bet.

Usage

The rules, in five lines.

Use sparingly. The brand recedes so the content can lead.

  1. 01

Keep clear space around the mark equal to the mark's height. Do not crop it tighter.

  2. 02

Use the default mark on cream; the knockout on night. Do not invent new colour treatments.

  3. 03

Wordmark size at least 96px wide on screen, 24mm wide in print. Below those sizes use the mark alone.

  4. 04

Italic emphasis uses the coral-deep colour, never the coral accent. Two coral shades, two roles.

  5. 05

Body copy in Inter, headlines in Fraunces, metadata in JetBrains Mono. Do not substitute.
