01 · Snippet

The smallest working example.

Tested in CI. If this snippet doesn't run, this page is broken — write to docs@apexworldlabs.com and we will fix it before the next release.

from apex import Aether

simos = Aether(api_key=os.environ["APEX_API_KEY"])

# Smallest working call — replace with your workload
result = simos.simulate(
    domain="cfd",
    geometry=open("blade.step", "rb").read(),
    physics=["thermal"],
    horizon_s=2.0,
)
print(result.summary)
02 · Concept

Why the API has the shape it has.

Operations pages on Aether share the same structure — snippet first, concept second, runbook third. This page covers the on-prem and air-gapped slice of the surface. The concepts on this page link to the underlying paper and to the reference page for the exact arguments.

The full conceptual treatment of this topic lives in the reference section. For most workloads, the snippet above is enough to get started; the concept section becomes load-bearing only when you push past the happy path.

If you find a concept missing or unclear, write to docs@apexworldlabs.com — every reply is read by an engineer who can change the page.

03 · Runbook

The boring operational details.

Limits, retries, error codes, what to page about. Every reference and concept page closes on the operational realities.

  • Rate limits

    Per-seat concurrency cap. Retry-After header is authoritative on 429.

  • Idempotency

    Pass an Idempotency-Key header for safe retries on write operations.

  • Timeouts

    Default per-call timeout 60 s; streaming calls have no upper bound.

  • Errors

    400 validation_error, 403 policy_denied, 429 rate_limited, 503 model_overloaded.

  • Observability

    Every call emits an OTel span. Pull the full trace via /v1/traces/{id}.

  • What to page about

    SLO: 99.95% on 5xx; page if error budget burns >2% in 60 min.

Missing what you needed?

Every page links to the test that proves the snippet still runs. If a page broke, file an issue or write to docs@apexworldlabs.com — the next time anyone looks, it'll be fixed.
